Elizabeth Vrachnas focuses her practice on the defense of premises and products liability, in addition to defending claims brought under New York Labor Law. In these matters, she represents municipalities, property managers, construction companies and commercial owners. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Vrachnas defended professional liability claims asserted against physicians and other health care workers, hospitals, and nursing homes. Her litigation experience extends throughout all phases of a dispute, including pretrial court appearances, taking and defending depositions, engaging in pre-litigation negotiations, communicating with clients and insurance claims examiners, researching complex legal issues, participating in settlement agreements, drafting various pleadings and documents, and assisting with trials and appeals.

Activities and Accomplishments

During law school, Ms. Vrachnas was a member of the Justice Action Center ("JAC"), which focused on using the law as a tool for social change. Through JAC, she studied, and drafted a thesis on, remedying wrongful convictions through the use of DNA testing. Ms. Vrachnas also interned in a trial bureau at the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorneys´ Office. While in law school, she also completed several hours of pro bono work assisting people throughout the City of New York defend against consumer collection matters.
